A federal judge has dismissed Dolce & Gabbana USA Inc. from a class-action lawsuit alleging fraud related to its NFT project, DGFamily. The ruling clarifies that the American subsidiary is not an alter ego of its Italian parent company, which managed the project.

The lawsuit, filed in May 2024, accused Dolce & Gabbana of abandoning the DGFamily NFT initiative and failing to deliver promised benefits, including exclusive digital wearables and physical products. Judge Naomi Reice Buchwald found insufficient evidence to tie the U.S. entity to the project's alleged shortcomings.

The case highlights growing scrutiny of high-profile NFT ventures, particularly those linked to traditional luxury brands. While the parent company remains a defendant, the dismissal underscores the legal complexities of corporate structures in digital asset litigation.
